Error detection with machine vision

What errors can be recognized using Machine Vision?

Machine vision systems recognize a variety of deviations-with a speed and accuracy that would hardly be accessible manually. These include:

  • Geometric deviations (e.g. lengths, angles, radii)
  • Surface defects (scratches, cracks, inclusions)
  • Color or material differences
  • Monday error (wrong parts, missing components)
  • Particles or contaminants
  • Microscopic defects, depending on the resolution and test task
  • …

In many cases, the systems already recognize defects in the process of creation - before they lead to committee or elaborate reworking.
